Flashback! J & B visit!

Remember a few months ago I promised I would blog about Jamie and Ben's visit???  Today is the day to finally fulfill my promise...let's call it a New Year's resolution to stop procrastinating!

Josh and I have known our friends Jamie and Ben for many, many years...first as individuals in high school and then as a couple in college.  We have had a lot of fun and adventure together over the years including crazy nights of college parties, camping trips and an awesome trip to Jamaica.  Needless to say, Josh and I were so excited to welcome Ben and Jamie to England and show them around our little corner of London.

Jamie and Ben have arrived!
The day that Jamie and Ben arrived I met them bright and early at Heathrow.  Jamie had quite the plane ride over, her lady neighbor sleep groped her throughout the flight, it was so funny to hear her tell the story!  With J & B running on adrenaline and caffeine, we traveled on the tube back to the flat so they could refresh.  We met Josh for lunch and then we went to Josh's office so they could see the view from the top of his building. Afterwards, I took J & B to Buckingham Palace for a tour, where Jamie and I wee'd on the Queen's lawn :) On the way back home, this happened...

I can't remember what we did that night after Josh got home from work, I do know we got home late...but, the next day we had epic plans for a football game, fish and chips and a stroll across Abbey Road.  Ben was beyond excited for the football match, he is a HUGE soccer fan!  The game didn't start until early afternoon, so after a leisurely morning we walked along the canal to Broadway market in Hackney for some street food lunch and some beer.

We had to wait in a line to get back into the tube, we thought this guys tattoo was funny.  He tattooed his postcode onto his neck.  I can just imagine how many times he's rolled out of a pub into a cab and gave the driver his address by pointing to his neck!

On their third day in London, Jamie and Ben headed out on their own to see the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.  Josh and I met up at a pub with some other friends visiting from America.

On their fourth day in London, J & B visited Westminster cathedral, St. Paul's, Big Ben and the London Eye.

Later that night we went to a German place for dinner, drank beer and played euchre!  It was so much fun!

The next day Josh took off of work and we joined Ben and Jamie on a trip to Warwick, Oxford and Stratford-Upon-Avon.  We got to tour Warwick castle, see the birthplace of Shakespeare and visited Christchurch, whose food hall was the inspiration for the dining room in the Harry Potter films!

The next day, Jamie and Ben left super early in the morning to catch a Eurostar train to Paris, they spent the night and returned late on Thursday night.

Friday was J & B's last full day in London :(  We spent the day doing all of the little things we hadn't gotten around to yet.  We visited Harrod's and had delicious food from the food hall, went to Soccer Scene where Ben bought as much Tottenham Hotspurs gear he could hold, and shopped at the Camden market where Jamie bought a fabulous custom leather handbag.  It was a good day!  On Saturday, Jamie and Ben's visit came to an end.  I couldn't believe how fast the week had gone by!  It was so sad to see Jamie and Ben go, but I'm so glad that they came!
